Kiner's Korner By BILL KINER
THE FAR RIGHT EXTREMIST MENACE
The far right is more than just a fringe group. These people cannot be simply dismissed as lunatics (which they are). To say that they are crazy is mild and giving them the benefit of the doubt. They are bigots and they are murderers.
In Washington’s Holocaust Memorial Museum, a gunman shot and killed a security officer before he himself was shot by the Museum’s security detail. This man, James Wenneker von Brunn, was known to have lived on society’s right wing extremist fringe. Some of von Brunn’s comments: “The Holocaust is a lie”. “Obama does what his Jew owners tell him to do” This is beyond absurdity. It is stupid, it is degrading to what America stands for, and it is dangerous.
Rush Limbaugh outdid himself for stupidity last week. Speaking on his radio talk show, he indicated that the left had more to do with the outrage at the holocaust center than did the far right. Here is his quote: "This guy (the shooter) is a leftist, if anything. This guy's belief's, this guy's hate, stems from influence that you find on the left, not on the right."
Rush, I hate to differ with you but this murder is not about a political matter; it is not about right versus left; it is about hate and it is about murder. To get politics mixed in with hate is to demean the death of an innocent security guard who was defending the patrons of the Museum. To politicize this crime, it is an attempt to change our focus from preventing hate and bigotry to a debate on political parties. That is absurd, even from the likes of Limbaugh.
Dr. George Tiller ran a clinic in Wichita Kansas that specialized in late term abortions. He was gunned down by an assailant last week
At Dr. Tiller’s funeral signs were being waved that “God Sent the Killer!". Excuse me but I always thought that God was loving and merciful and did not avow murder. Look, I believe in the sanctity of life. I am opposed to abortion. But along with most Americans, I abhor violence regardless of its attempted justifications. There is no, and there never will be, a rational argument for violent behavior.
Last month a Wesleyan University college student was shot to death. The victim was 21 year old Johanna Justin-Jinich. Police have said that the alleged murderer, Stephen Morgan, targeted Wesleyan students and Jews in his journals.
Communities throughout our great country must rise up against violence and bigotry. Communities need to reach out to those who are susceptible to hate groups and educate them to the dangers of extremism. As a country of laws and as a people who believe in a loving God, we cannot tolerate the hate and the violence practiced by extremists.

My response is below:
Offended by Kiner column
I am greatly offended by the remarks of Mr. Kiner in his recent column. I am a member of the "far right" and I take great offense to being called a racist and a bigot by someone I don't even know and who does not know me. In fact, that statement in and of itself is very bigoted. Oh, wait, the left can never be bigots. How dumb of me to forget.
I do agree that the violence towards both Dr. Tiller and at the Holocaust Museum is inexcusable and should NEVER be tolerated. Both people should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
However, Mr. Kiner forgot to mention a lot of places that have spewed vile hatred for years. A few examples: The Huffington Post, The Daily Kos, and Salon.com just to name a few. I have never in my life seen more hatred and bigotry come from any other source than those places. For some reason, they seem to get a free pass from the media and others on the left. The hypocrisy is staggering.
Can you imagine what would happen if a Republican comedian said the same thing about Barak Obama's daughters as David Letterman said about Sarah Palin's daughter? Where is the outrage?
Mr. Kiner also stated that "To politicize this crime, is an attempt to change our focus from preventing hate and bigotry to a debate on political parties." Are you kidding me??? That is all that the far left has done with the killing of Dr. Tiller. Just look at how they claim Bill O'Reilly and others incited this person to commit this horrific crime. Not only is it not true at any level, it is also borderline criminal. Where are the facts to back that allegation? I, as of yet, have not seen any. Then again, facts have never been important to the far left. They will never allow facts to get in the way of attempting to destroy anyone who dares disagree with them.
I believe in facts. The fact is that Dr. Tiller had terminated an estimated 60,000 unborn children for any reason including head aches, and not being able to play sports. This is a FACT, not a rumor or lie. I realize that it is legal in Kansas to do this but it still does not take away from the facts. Now, people will change the name from "Unborn Child" to "Fetus" or even "Globs of Tissue" in an attempt to garner greater public approval. That may make it sound better but again, facts are facts. It is also a fact that the person who shot him should be given the death penalty if convicted. You will never see myself or any other of my "Right Wing" family/friends defending him or his actions.
James Wenneker von Brunn was NOT a right wing extremist but a complete hate filled lunatic. Maybe he had been reading the New York Times or some other left wing entities. After all, in his notes that were found by the police he said that he hated Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity, as well as others. The last time I looked, both of those people are "Far Right". Again, facts.
I also find it odd that Mr. Kiner never mentioned Pvt. William Andrew Long. Remember? He was recently murdered by a Muslim Extremist. Was this murderer "Right Wing"? Probably not. Maybe this is why it was forgotten.
I do agree with Mr. Kiners comments that "Communities throughout our great country must rise up against violence and bigotry." But, we must rise up against ALL violence and bigotry. Including the "Left Wing Extremists". Let's be consistant.
